The first Cable TV center in the Maldives was established in Ukulhas in 25^th April 2000 with the initiation of Ibrahim Ali (Bahaareege, AA Ukulhas) and Amir Khalid (Reynige, AA Ukulhas). At that time, only 10 channels were rebroadcast to a total of 72 households by the Cable TV Center to all the residences. The total cost of this project was MVR 160,000. However, by the end of 2003, Ukulhas council overtook the business and started to run the business under their name with few channels and strives to provide the best entertainment experience to the people of Ukulhas. With a lot of challenges and hardships, the council decided to take a step forward and to make a partnership with Medianet Maldives on 22^nd June 2017, a leading pay-TV broadcaster in the Maldives.

Along with the partnership business with Medianet, currently Ukulhas Cable TV center offers more than 18 channels in High Definition and 60 standard definition channels. Along with that, now the residents can select the packages based on their budget and taste, and the packages start with MVR. 150 and end with MVR. 380. Channels available include English and Hindi sports and news channels, and children’s entertainment channels. Our Packages include, Local, Basic, Family and Premium. Also, now along with the preferred package, the customers have an add-on choice. By paying an extra amount of MVR. 53, customers will get more HD channels with the selected package.

Other Services

Other services include selling decoders, remotes, cards, and other essential items needed to for the connection and the service. Apart from that, the council also helps guesthouses to solve the technical problems encountered in the provision of cable TV services to their guests, but with an extra charge of MVR. 100 for each connection.

Packages 

Local – MVR 150.00  - This include popular local channels. The package will provide over 15 channels to the customers.

Basic – MVR 250.00 - The package includes every channel from local as well as other channels including News, Sports, Documentaries, and Kids.

Family – MVR 320.00 - Family package includes every channel from Basic. This package provides channels which is suitable for all.

Premium – MVR 380.00 - Premium includes every channels from Family along with major leagues, lifestyle and more.

Variety – MVR 53.00 - Customers can now Add-on variety along with Family or Premium. The packages usually involve HD channels and this is a cheap alternative for those who are looking for drama, actions and adventure.

Complete – MVR 424 - Complete gives the customers the choice of over 40 HD and 85 channels. This package includes different types of channel including news, lifestyles, Kids, documentaries and so on.  Preferring a complete package gives the chance to the customers to broadcast the live coverage of leagues.
